My 5 and 10 year olds both take piano lessons with Tomiyah and so far it has been great. We have no prior musical knowledge or ability prior to this to compare but they both seem to be progressing well. Tomiyah is kind but also very structured and motivating which my kids need to get the most out of their 30 minute lesson.
Musicologie is great and for everyone! I haven’t played the piano in years and Tomiyah is a great teacher. She is so patient and kind. She takes the time to learn what areas her students are wanting focus on and creates a lesson plan accordingly. I would definitely recommend them for anyone looking to learn or pick back up an instrument!

We had such a wonderful experience at Musicologie Junior. First, let’s start with the flexibility of being able to cancel and schedule your classes whenever you need. That has made my life easier as we can’t always commit to our scheduled Friday classes. Secondly, the teachers are so kind and patient! I believe we’ve had the pleasure of meeting all of the Junior teachers due to our scheduling needs but my kiddo loved all of them! He’s already a rockstar so being in the environment just allowed him to shine even more. Lastly, the staff has been amazing to work with. Kelsey and Chris are always available to answer my questions, and honestly just to chat about anything. It’s such a warm environment. I’m 9 months pregnant and they made sure to always check in on me and bring me a chair to ensure I’m not getting up and down in class, allowing me to still participate with my son. We are taking a little break just so I can have my next child but I absolutely would recommend Musicologie Alpharetta to anyone with ears okay! We will be back once my nugget is older for more individual lessons since My kiddo has decided that electric guitar is his preferred instrument. See you soon guys! Thank you for everything!

Jordan was fantastic! My 8 year old daughter had her first violin lesson and Jordan was so kind, patient, and encouraging. He helped her learn about the parts of instrument, and she ended the lesson reading music and playing part of a short song with him. I also appreciate how we received lesson notes with a suggestion for what to work on at home.

Ive been going here for a few months and working with Robbie. Id give it more stars if i was able to. They have great teachers for any age, and the staff are always happy and very knowledgeable for the instrument you're interested in. I plan to keep coming, as I feel the improvements after each lesson.

I have just moved from TX to the Raleigh, NC area and was looking for a good drum teacher. After trying out different teachers at other music schools I finally found a fantastic drum teacher and a wonderful music school!! Sarah is very talented, patient and a dedicated drum teacher. I love attending drum lessons 2/week. Shaun who is at the front desk is very organized and helpful. Things come up and rescheduling a lesson is never a problem. The school is new, very clean and there’s plenty of parking. If you are looking for a good music school this is definitely the place to go to.

Nicholas is an incredible teacher He is patient, caring, and creative, and he makes piano lessons so fun for a young child who is difficult to teach/wrangle. The office manager is also helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We've had a great experience over the past few months and are excited to continue.

I came across this music school at the Edgewater Music Festival. The two people at the table were interacting with all the children and showing them how to use the instruments on display. You can tell they really love what they do. I think this will be a great addition to the neighborhood!

Our 3 grandchildren are enjoying their experience at musicology. Drums, piano, and Jr music class. Sam, Haylee, and Kiersten are all amazing. They make it fun and have lots of patience. Also Julie is so fun and always welcomes the kids which helps set a happy mood right as we walk in the door. We all look forward to the classes each week and we see progress for each of the children which is very exciting.

We just went to our first junior class and we absolutely loved it. It felt like every child was included and all levels of participation were appreciated. There was time for learning, structured play, and unstructured play. My family and I are excited to go back next week!

Katherine has been awesome. Our little girl has been loving her vocal lessons and looks forward to them every Monday. It's awesome to see how excited she is for this new experience. The studio is very clean and up to date. They also teach a lot of different types of instruments which is pretty cool & may have to look into that for myself at some point.

We LOVE Musicologie!! Both of my girls are taking lessons, one flute and one voice. Both teachers, Ryan and Madison, have been excellent at helping each of them feel comfortable and excited about what they are learning. In addition, as a parent, I love the structure of the program and the ease of communication with teachers. I know each week what they’ve worked on in their lesson and the expectations of what they are to practice. And Julie, the office manager, is excellent. She is personable, knowledgeable, and will bend over backwards to help. We’re also excited to access the additional community events they are offering, and all for free. Can’t recommend enough!!!
My wife is a voice teacher and chose musicologie to send our daughter to to receive voice lessons, what does that tell you?! They’re an incredible company with wonderful people running it. My daughter has loved her voice lessons and my second child is thriving learning the flute. They make it so fun with the treasure bucket and reward systems for practicing that my kids actually enjoy doing it. I would highly recommend them.
My son Israel absolutely enjoyed his time here with Musicology. He was only 7 months old when we started and he really loved the musical instruments and watching the other children play and sing. We are moving so we had to withdraw but we are surely going to miss this place! They are so welcoming and supportive. We love you Musicology Lakeway! 💗

Only one lesson in but very impressed! Very nice facility, well equipped lesson room, and my teacher Sean (who also runs the place) really listened to what my immediate goals are and is taking an approach to address them.
We had such a great first experience here; the staff (Sean) is very friendly and welcoming the second you walk in, the place has a really nice vibe, and the guitar instructor (Jay) was incredibly patient and did an amazing job keeping my 4.5-year-old engaged and excited the whole time. I highly recommend!

It was easy to schedule our first lesson / assessment online, and despite having limited prior experience with our respective instruments, both my daughter and I learned some skills that we were able to take home and put to use immediately. We're excited to enroll in weekly classes moving forward!
Neil was extremely skilled at finding ways to connect with Myles…. Who is typically very shy and not easily participatory. Neil has a very low key and approachable style …. Great for kids like Myles. The experience was all that I had hoped for and more.. … a positive half hour exploring some instruments and some aspects of music and rhythm and connecting appropriately with a new person!!!
Musicologie has been great for my daughter, she loves her drum lessons with Tony and recently self-composed her own bucket-drum piece with him, including cow bell! All you need is more cow bell right?! :) Thank you for being a wonderful and consistent music teacher for her since she started!

We have been bringing our 4 year old son (Who is starting to learn english) for piano lessons with his teacher Jo. I cannot say enough good things about Jo the school, our son has just flourished since starting his lessons here, not only on his ability to play piano hut also socially. His teacher is patient and kind with him and always makes him feel extremely proud of himself. We definitely appreciate this place so much and will recommend it to anyone looking for teachers who not only view your children as students but also as human beings and friends!
Our kiddos love going and practicing at the Carmel location. The teachers meet them at their comfort level and then give goals for the next meeting. You know it’s a good fit when they willingly practice at home during the week! Our oldest is looking for violin songs to surprise Anna with and our youngest is supported by Alex as he finds his beat on the drums!

We have had such a wonderful experience with Musicologie! My daughter has been taking bass guitar lessons here for about a year, and she also joined the rock band program about five months ago. She has already had three really fun performances, and it has been so sweet to watch her confidence grow. Today she did an evaluation for voice lessons with Lexi and absolutely loved it. She told me she loves the way it feels to sing, which honestly made my heart so happy. I love that Musicologie has helped her find something she truly enjoys and can lose herself in. Emily was a delight as a voice teacher! I had trialed another school, but their instructor had pushed me too fast with pieces that were way too difficult for me and did not listen to what I needed. Emily, on the other hand, wanted to know my goals and completed a voice assessment using various techniques that got me singing with a way wider range. Plus, she was great at putting me at ease. Highly recommend Emily.
My 13-month-old son just started the Musicologie Junior classes with Miss Rachel and we are LOVING it! All the activities are easily adaptable for different skill levels. The whole class is engaging, and beginner music concepts and ideas are taught in such a fun way.

Avery has been beyond amazing with our first daughter learning piano. He is so calm and compassionate with the beginning learners —while he is a Professional pianist!! Our other daughter is so excited to start with Avery in the upcoming weeks! Our daughter was his only performer for Westerville and Avery showed up to support her!! We love musicology and Avery!!!!
We had such an incredible experience at my daughter‘s first piano lesson. We were warmly greeted by the owner upon arrival and walked through how everything works. Her teacher, Miss Naomi, was so patient and very informative. I was nervous about taking a five year-old (typical age related attention span & listening skills concerns), but they were so patient and well-versed in how to meet her where she was at. They took a very personalized approach to observing her and what would work to pique her interest. We are excited to get signed up for lessons!
The location is central and the parking was easy because you can park on the street or in their parking lot. It was very organized and nicely decorated. Aaron, the piano instructor was patient and kind. My granddaughter walked out pleading for me to take her back the next day. Thanks for being so welcoming and kind.

My 13 year old son says he really likes both of his instructors. According to him, "it's so casual with Josh (a big compliment from a teen ha) and at Rock Stars with Cade, I get to play other styles of music I wouldn't ordinarily think to choose as well as other instruments". This is so huge for us because it's literally the first activity in his life that we've started him in that he looks forward to as opposed to complaining about going! A big thanks to Josh and Cade for all you do to further his music education and development!
I’m so thankful for having an excellent piano and voice teacher Mr Wes, who is also guiding me on the different ways I could play my original songs and how I feel that I’m advancing on my advance piano lessons, I watched the show they had at the mall about 2 months ago and it really motivated me to keep learning all the way. I also like the fact that they also teach children, because I’m planning to bring my grandkids so they can learn piano and take voice lessons too. My daughter started piano lessons for the first time at Musicology. It's been a solid experience. She has learned so much, and she enjoys going weekly. The facility itself is very nice, and Christian is very accommodating if we need a schedule change. She had her first recital last weekend, and her teacher Reyna helped her prepare very well! Our family loves coming here! Our son has been coming since he had just turned 3 and has really enjoyed seeing Jo every week. He says Mondays are Jo days and considers Jo his favorite singer🥹. We love how Jo meets kids where they are and pushes them in a kind and encouraging way. In the past year, we have seen kids with varying personality types join our classes and Jo’s patience and ability to make each kid shine is impressive. The age range of our class (Juniors) means it is a bit of organized chaos and a lot of fun.
My son won a month of drum lessons from his school and we’re going to continue the membership. He absolutely loves it! His first instructor Josh was amazing, so patient with him and kind. His second instructor I have no complaints he is also very patient with my son and so kind. I mention the patience because my son is on the spectrum and can get easily distracted. Everyone has been welcoming and kind. I would highly recommend!
Andrew is an incredible music teacher. As an adult starting with zero prior musical experience, I wasn't sure what to expect, but learning piano with him has been a fantastic experience. The lessons are engaging, and he has a knack for explaining complex music theory in a way that actually makes sense. Took Saxaphone lessons as a complete beginner with Wes, who’s a great teacher! He did a really great job communicating and planning what I should focus on and got me to the point of playing my first song on the Saxaphone. Looking forward to taking more lessons with Wes!
Every person at Musicologie has been helpful and Professional. I took lessons from Lindsay and recommend her to anyone looking for vocal help. She got right to work on the things I wanted to improve and I did see improvement almost immediately. I plan to go back when my schedule allows.
We take the our 2 year old to the Musicologie Jr. class with Ms. Naomi and it’s our favorite part of the week. It is well structured and so fun. Ms. Naomi does a wonderful job of engaging everyone and making sure the children are having fun while building foundational music skill at age appropriate levels. Our 2 year old gets excited the second we pull in the parking lot and leaves singing the songs from class. We also love the flexibility of rescheduling as she is medically complex so we often miss classes but still feel we get our money’s worth with that flexibility and our daughter doesn’t miss out on an activity she loves. That flexibility is somewhat rare in children’s activities. All of that combined make us very happy customers and we look forward to staying that way!

My family is very happy with Musicologie Gahanna! The management and teachers are wonderful to work with. Started with musicologie jr, then progressed to piano. Now we take piano with Cindy; she’s been flexible and tailors lessons to make them age appropriate and enjoyable for our child. Couldn’t imagine having started music anywhere else.
First season was great. Very flexible with level of learning. Gave my daughter some good tips on how to learn. And taught her a new approach to blowing into her instrument. And in just 30 mins!!
This place is amazing! The staff are so kind and eager to work with kids. My 7yo son is autistic and trying different instruments and they’ve been so patient and encouraging with him - even letting his brothers experiment with music while he’s learning. Their philosophy on music and play is perfect for kids.

The Musicologie Method is at the core of every lesson and class we teach. It’s rooted in two things: a safe environment, and student-centered learning. Research tells us these two elements are key components of the way everyone learns, from kids through adults.
In music lessons, a Safe Environment means a place where you feel free to be who you are, encouraged to play the music you enjoy, and excited to try new things.
Student-Centered Learning means harnessing trust, collaboration, and exploration to give students the agency and the inspiration to achieve their goals and to make the learning process engaging and fun.
We teach all ages. Many of our students are between the ages of 5 and 12, but we teach toddlers and we teach many adults, too! Our toddler music class is called Musicologie Junior and starts at 6 months. Private lessons start at 5. We also have a rock band class called Rockstars where students ages 7+ learn to be rock stars and play at local venues!
We also have member workshops, open mics, and concerts for all our students, including adults! At Musicologie {location.name}, not only can you learn an instrument from an amazing, friendly, certified teacher, but you can meet other musicians and join a community of music explorers!

A lesson membership is how you sign up for your weekly lesson or class at Musicologie. Your membership fee is billed monthly. The price depends on which lessons or classes you're enrolled in.
Sure, we offer drop-in lessons for students who can't commit to a weekly lesson.
You will be charged a prorated amount for the remaining days in the month and then you’ll go into our automated system and be billed on the 1st of each month for the upcoming month.
To withdraw from lessons, you must give 30 days advance notice by filling out our online exit form. This is the only way to withdraw. Contact us for the exit form.
We know that you'll stay more engaged by learning music you love and you'll grow faster by using what you've learned in your lessons in performances. We'll take our own Musicologie Method, along with traditional method books like Suzuki, Alfred's, Faber, etc., and combine that with contemporary music you're excited about with the goal of performing in one of our ensembles, group classes, or at one of our concerts.
Not for your first lesson. We have instruments at our studios you can use for the first few lessons. But after that you'll want to get your own instrument for practice at home. Your teacher will help you pick out the right one. We also have open practice hours so you can come in and use instruments and practice rooms at Musicologie during the week.
If you do have your own instrument, you should definitely bring it with you, as long as it's easily portable - leave your piano and drums at home
An assessment lesson is what we call your first lesson. Don't worry, it's not a test! You'll come in, meet your teacher, talk about your goals, go through our policies and develop an individual curriculum. Every student does it regardless of age or ability. For very young students, an assessment is also a chance to see if they're ready for private lessons.

Of course! Here's how it works:
Log into your account at Musicologie.com
Find the lesson you want to change and select 'cancel' or 'reschedule' at least 24 hours before the lesson. Musicologie Junior and Accelerated Labs can be canceled or rescheduled up to 30 minutes before the class.
The canceled lesson will remain in your account to reschedule at any point in the future.
If you withdraw from lessons, you can no longer reschedule any lessons you cancelled.
If you re-enroll, any previously cancelled lessons will still be available in your account.
When you sign up for lessons, your credit card or debit card will be automatically debited a flat fee each month on the 1st of the month. To withdraw, you need to provide us with 30-days notice by filling out a withdrawal form. Contact your teacher for the form.
Musicologie cannot offer refunds for any missed or unused lessons.
